I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families who struggle with poor communication, boundary issues, behavioral problems, depression, anxiety, and self harming behaviors. I specialize in treating teens and adults by incorporating Reality Therapy with Art Therapy techniques. By using creative expression clients are able to get in touch with what they feel, learn what they want, evaluate their behavior and make a plan for achieving the outcomes they desire. By choosing healthy thoughts and behaviors the client chooses a more fulfilling life.

Our choices determine our happiness. I believe every individual has the power to reframe their thoughts for success.

    Courtney Dunwoody

Welcome…my name is Courtney Dunwoody and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage & Family therapist.

Many individuals struggle…or know someone is struggling. Professional counseling is a great way to return to the life you want to live! I provide individual counseling for adolescents, teens and adults. My specialties include helping people who are suffering from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and life transitions. I use a future focused narrative approach to help you develop life long tools that will help you live a healthier life.

I also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). What is ART?

ART is an evidence-based treatment conducted by a trained professional which helps remove negative emotions and sensations from a traumatic event. It uses rapid eye movements that help clients process events and replace those images and sensations. Research has shown that clients often experience relief in just 3-5 ART sessions. ART has been proven to help with phobia, trauma, anxiety. depression and grief. Please contact me if you are interested in more information on how ART can benefit you.

I have a great passion for helping you find your way to happiness and internal peace in the midst of your struggles. I accept most major insurance plans and can be reached directly at [email protected] or (682) 220-9485.

Food for thought….”Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”…Albus Dumbledore.

My goal is to help clients live a healthier life by learning skills which will enable them to cope, and ultimately find hope and happiness. I enjoy helping people move beyond the hurts and pains of current and past issues to discover the strength and beauty that lies within. Goals for my counseling relationships include improving my client’s quality of life by helping them live with mindfulness and self-actualization. I offer on-line sessions from anywhere in Texas. UPDATE: Now accepting new clients.

    Laura Rosser

Howdy! Let’s talk about what you can expect from a session with me. The techniques I utilize are from the foundations of Person Centered and Solution Focused Theory with some art therapy mixed in (if you are comfortable with experimenting with creative therapy).  During our first session, we will discuss what goals you would like to accomplish during our time together. My philosophy of therapy is, I feel you are the authority in your life and therapy can be a catalyst to identify barriers keeping you from achieving goals. We would be joining together as a team to process, help identify goals, and strategies to hopefully assist in making those goals a reality.

What I bring to the table is a varied resume of experience working with LGBTQ+IA, Veterans, Couples, and individuals from private practice settings, crisis intervention centers, family resources center, crisis respites centers, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. I believe that my experience offers a strong foundation in mental health as a private practice practitioner. I prefer to work with children that are at least 12 years of age.

If you are transgendered or gender-variant, I offer a letter of assessment for your continued journey. A letter from a therapist is sometimes required to pursue HRT, gender marker change, or to begin your transition. This would not require “therapy”, but rather an assessment if you felt you would not benefit from therapy at this time.

I attended Texas Wesleyan University for a BS in Psychology (2009) and a MA for Licensed Professional Counselor (2013). I have been working in Mental Health for the last 14 years. My emphasis during school was focused on work at the VA, Community Counseling Center, Art Therapy Center, and Family Resource Center.

My hobbies include spending time with family, friends, and my fur babies. I love to travel, hike, spend time outdoors, camp, kayak, and work with my hands doing projects around the house. Next year, I hope to learn hope to knit and learn more about herbal remedies.

I find it a privilege to have the opportunity to assist you, your child, your family, or your relationship. I do not take what I do lightly, and I look forward to answering any questions you may have now or in the future.

    Samantha Sotello

We are quick to take care of our physical health by going to the doctor but going to counseling is just as important to help with our mental health. As a strong advocate for mental health, I strive to help guide individuals to develop the skills they need to feel confident in themselves and gain independence in their journey through life.

I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX with my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2010 and then in 2014 with my Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling. During my program, I studied abroad in both Sydney, Australia and London, England which helped to shape my understanding of cultural diversity.

Following college, I spent extensive time being trained in art therapy and over the past five years I have focused on helping children and teens work through trauma. My experience includes working closely with professionals, including law enforcement and CPS, to provide justice and healing to individuals who have experienced abuse. I am truly passionate about counseling children, adolescents and teenagers to help them find their voice and empower them to take charge of their own healing.

Along with teens and children, I have extensive experience working with adult individuals, couples and families. I believe families and couples function as systems and can work through most issues by focusing on identifying destructive patterns, working on their communication and understanding towards each other. If you are an adult client and are struggling with trauma, stress, anxiety or family issues I would be honored to work with you on those challenges.

I look forward to meeting you and working together in order to help you achieve your goals and live a rewarding lifestyle.
